Like so many others, I have a vague list of things I need to get done each day stewing in my mind. With each goal that pops into my head, I immediately start thinking of all the barriers that will make it difficult to accomplish that goal. Sometimes I can even convince myself that my goals are unrealistic or impossible (which they aren't, it's just easier to think they are then to do the work to achieve them). But the word impossible hit me hard this morning. What an awful word. What a dream-crushing, soul-sucking, mind-numbing word. Saying something is impossible is denying yourself the delicious feeling of success before you even get started. I really like the following quote by Audrey Hepburn:
I've kinda adopted this quote as my mantra today. When I feel discouraged, I am just going to think of Hepburn and this quote and try to mend my relationship with Mondays. Instead of moaning, and moping and being miserable. I've chosen to be MOTIVATED! If you have similar feeling about Mondays (or any day for that matter), find something that empowers you (a quote, phrase, song, action) and try to turn your day around. Happy Motivational Monday!
